Left Behind

We had Tayten's trip to Denver last week and because Terren isn't too fond of his carseat, we left him behind. He stayed with Grandma and Papa Bright for the first couple of nights and then at Uncle Pat's and Auntie Manda's. Thank you to all of you. I am sure he had fun!

He was so excited to see us (mostly mama!) when we returned!

Terren currently has eight front teeth and two molars that have been trying to come through for the last few weeks. Lucky for us, he is not a crabby baby when teething.

He is walking more than he crawls and LOVES to be outside. Our front screen door doesn't latch well and he knows it. He escaped this morning after Tayten walked out the door. This is still a new adventure for him and as he was crawling out, the door began to shut and smacked him in the head. He didn't care. He crawled down the steps and "ran" as fast as he could towards the lawn. When I picked him up to put him in the pickup, he wiggled, kicked, and screamed trying to get free. This kid is going to be a handful!

When in Denver, I held my girlfriends little baby girl and I could barely remember Terren being that tiny just one short year aso. He is no longer my baby and he is growing to be such a handsome little dude like his big bro. He is just over one, but already a toddler. He climbs, walks, throws a ball, is starting to form words (dada, mama, more, ball) and has his tantrums already. It is a lot of fun to watch him grow, but he will be keeping us on our toes!!

Did I mention he can climb?

So this morning, I pulled Tayten out of the bath, but didn't pull the plug. The little man needed to be occupied (he was up at 5:30 wanting attention!) and since he hadn't gotten dressed yet, I was all for letting him stand at the side of the tub to splash and play. Well, while I was helping Taye get dressed, I here a big plop and I look around the corner to see this...only with a huge smile and splashing til his heart was content. Don't worry, Tayten's room is less then 5 feet from the bathroom and Terren was not left unattended for more than ten seconds.

After reading this story, I would NEVER walk away from my little guy! I can't even imagine the pain that mother felt!

Life can change in the blink of an eye...

A Short Video

Turn up the volume and enjoy. It is short, sorry!

His all done sign looks like bye bye when done with one hand,

but we know exactly what he is trying to tell us!

One Year Well Visit

Chad and I took our little man to his one year well visit yesterday. He weighed in at a whopping 20.8 pounds. I swore he was heavier than that! That carseat was getting HEAVY! I am glad (and thankful too!!) Grandpa and Grandma Bright bought him a new one for his birthday.

He is a healthy little oinker! He eats everything! When feeding him, we have to be sure he eats the entire jar of baby food before offering him something else. Once he gets ahold of the table food, he will rarely take another bite from the jar. I am thinking we will not be buying any more baby food...we do still have a whole cupboard to finish.

The doctor discovered fluid in both ears (not surprised!) and we are hoping it resolves on it's own. We noticed him batting at his ears last week, but no sign of fever or infection. He cut his 9th tooth last Friday. Every other time he's had an ear infection, he'd been teething too.

I promise to get a video up of him walking before the end of the week!!
